Three weeks prior, Reigan Yutaka, a renowned Japanese literature scholar, was discovered stabbed to death inside his residence at Yotsubadai. Authorities arrested Maihama Ryuji as the suspect. With only two days left in his detention, Ryuji reveals he committed a burglary in Sasago-cho, providing a solid alibi for the murder time. Although the police suspect Ryuji, the locations are separated by an hour's travel, making the method of the crime unclear. Conan deduces the truth, tranquilizes Kogoro, and solves the case.

To verify the timing, investigators question suspects while Takagi and the Detective Boys travel to Lake Okuho. There, they examine the surroundings and interview bystanders to test Nishiyama's alibi. Their investigation reveals inconsistencies in his story, allowing them to dismantle his defense. Consequently, the group successfully confirms his guilt and proceeds to arrest Nishiyama Daiki for the murder of Kitasono Seiho.

Sep 15, 2018Police confront Takatori Iwao and his accomplice Utsumi Tokuro for robbing a Beika City jewelry store of 300 million yen in jewels. During Conan’s deduction, Takatori shoots the ceiling, causing crates to fall. Conan collides with Takatori, losing his phone, badge, and watch, before being kidnapped. Conan escapes into the Kitahinode Shopping Center but is recaptured because all stores are closed and no public phone exists. Takatori drives to an abandoned factory and forces Conan into a chimney. Meanwhile, jewelry store buyer Yamaga Setsuo, who leaked information to the robbers, escapes police investigation. Inside the chimney, Conan discovers Utsumi’s corpse and the stolen jewels. Takatori explains that Utsumi betrayed him and fell to his death. Takatori then throws Conan out of the moving car.

Sep 22, 2018After being ejected from a vehicle, Conan regains consciousness at a road intersection and is transported to Beika Central Hospital, where he reports the incident to the police. He subsequently leaves the hospital to search for Takatori, visiting Shingetsu Bar and Utsumi’s apartment. Inside the apartment, Conan discovers the body of Yamaga Setsuo and learns the culprit intends to fly to Hong Kong at 4pm. A noise from the balcony prompts an investigation, but Takatori locks Conan outside and flees. Conan escapes via an emergency staircase and pursues the suspect. At the airport road, Conan halts Takatori using his soccer ball, tranquilizes Kogoro, and resolves the case.

Haibara instructs the boys to release the bills through door gaps so they float for police retrieval. She retains evidence of the crime and is subsequently arrested.

Rain causes Genta’s hood to drop his Detective Boys badge, revealing Haibara’s strap had also fallen inside. After locating a father and son from a train, a man steals the strap because he hid an engagement ring within it. Conan tracks the thief and realizes the missing strap is in the parking lot. They retrieve it from under a car and return it to Haibara, but a car runs over the strap, damaging it. Conan repairs the left eye design with a magic marker. Despite the fix, Haibara remains angry and continues to refuse giving Conan the antidote.
