While escaping underground, Lawrence is stabbed by a Medio Trading Company pursuer, which slows him down and allows Chloe to trap him and Holo. Chloe demands Holo in exchange for Lawrence’s life, but he refuses. Holo transforms into her wolf form to fight off pursuers and protect Lawrence before disappearing as he loses consciousness. Lawrence wakes up at the Milone Trading Company headquarters, where he learns that despite significant profits, the coin venture also resulted in major losses. He receives a small payment in pepper but is immediately billed for new clothes and apples. Upon realizing Holo is nearby, Lawrence finds her, and the two agree to continue their journey together.
