Tatsu tells Okita that Tetsu has been carrying emotional scars for two years, traumatized that he relived that moment when his parents were murdered by an unknown assailant in an inflamed building. Tatsu serves dinner to Yamanami, who is unable to join the battle due to sickness. Susumu tries to talk some sense into Tetsu, who has locked himself in the cabinet due to trauma.
