Bernard experiences memory alteration, yet cadets are only bound by secrecy because Misaki alone faced the Ghoul directly. This incident reveals the true danger of their adversary. Kotoko is repaired, and training intensity increases with Suzanna chosen as the primary candidate. However, her mind rejects the Integral System, the neural sensor interface designed to counteract Quantum Core effects. Combined with her terror of the Ghoul, this failure leads her to resign and pursue her genuine passion for engineering. Consequently, Suzanna is discharged from service after having two years of her memory erased, including all recollections of her fellow cadets.
