Ep. 36: Nakago reveals his schemes and false Taiitsukun while Miaka and Tamahome face emotional turmoil.

Nakago explains his plans to Miaka, including the existence of a false Taiitsukun and Yui’s virginity. He admits to manipulating Yui by claiming Miaka betrayed her, a lie she eventually accepted. All events unfold according to his design. Tomo traps another Suzaku warrior. Tamahome catches up to Miaka and encounters Nakago, who implies he has slept with her. Enraged, Tamahome attacks Nakago, wounding him with red lightning, but Soi intervenes to save Nakago. Tamahome finds Miaka, who wakes in pain and believes Nakago raped her, leaving Tamahome stunned. The rest remain trapped in the mirage. Miaka and Tamahome rest at a lake, where Miaka’s distorted logic leads her to conclude she cannot marry Tamahome.
