Upon arriving at Promethium, Tetsuro is granted twenty-four hours to decide on becoming a cyborg. During this period, he encounters a suicidal cyborg who reveals that Maetel is the daughter of Promethium. Additionally, his guide Mirai informs Tetsuro that he has been selected to serve as a vanguard soldier for the Mechanized Empire. These revelations complicate his choice, leading Tetsuro to eventually confront Maetel about the truths he has learned.
