Jul 28, 1997The Night Baron's body is recovered and identified as Romero Rojas, with initial assumptions suggesting an accidental fall during a hotel break-in attempt. Later, Rachel, Conan, and Audra encounter the Night Baron exiting an elevator. Rachel attacks, but the figure easily dodges her kicks and flees. Conan urges pursuit, but the girls remain stunned. The costume is discovered in the pool, destroying genetic evidence. Additional facts include the costume coming from Romero's body and a third-degree karate black belt guard being knocked out.
70EP 70Rachel clears Cliff as Conan exposes Audra's method of framing Romero as the Night Baron.
Aug 4, 1997Rachel establishes Cliff's innocence while Conan utilizes the "Princess Wind" clue to tranquilize Richard and demonstrate the crime with dummies. He reveals Romero was moved from Audra and Cliff's room, not thrown from his own. Audra drugged Romero, locked the door externally, dressed him as the Night Baron, and pushed him out. Cliff found her unused wig and realized she killed him. He stole the costume to create an alibi and prevent her arrest. Audra confesses that Romero hacked her brother's systems years ago, causing the company's loss and her brother's suicide. She staged the murder using a fake virus. Although Audra acts to make Cliff forget her, he remains loyal, accepts arrest for aiding her, and allows himself to be taken into custody.

The next day, Tad and Ted, Tod's brothers, arrive, revealing them to be triples. Only Tod's has an alibi since he was talking to someone on the phone using a groundline, leaving his brothers prime suspects. Using Serena, Conan reveals that Ted, the novelist brother, killed Rodrick. He wiretapped his father's watch to track his movements, explaining why it went missing and made the mistake of setting the answering machine's clock ahead to the time of the blackout; no messages could have been recorded then.
