Wayna and Kecha escort the children to the Fort of the Black Eagle. Meanwhile, Mendoza, Pedro, and Sancho reach Gomez's camp, where Mendoza offers assistance navigating the forbidden zone. He guides the Spaniards to the fort, and Gomez plans a nightfall attack. Mendoza secretly warns Esteban, prompting Tao to construct a giant flare that illuminates the sky and helps the Incas repel the invaders. The following morning, Wayna brings the children to the City of the High Peak. There, they meet Chief Kraka, who recognizes the medallions worn by the children as keys to the gates of the cities of gold. The episode concludes with a mini-documentary about Machu Picchu.
