Fuguno Masuo is a 24-year-old office worker with no romantic experience. After a fortune teller tells him he has no future in love, he meets Nagisa Shiozaki at a dating bar, where she shares his history of romantic misfortune. He becomes determined to win her over despite his clumsy nature and tendency to find himself in awkward situations. His efforts are complicated by competing suitors and the growing interest of a female coworker. Masuo must navigate these challenges while trying to avoid the failures that have marked his past attempts at relationships.
