Kaze Tachinu

Jirou Horikoshi is unable to become a pilot due to poor eyesight but is determined to study aeronautical engineering at Tokyo Imperial University. His goal is to create aircraft inspired by the work of Italian aviation pioneer Giovanni Battista Caproni. Upon arriving in the city, he encounters the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, during which he helps a maid working for the family of a girl named Naoko Satomi. This event occurs amid a period of significant social instability in Japan, which continues for over twenty years until the country's defeat in World War II.
