Feb 24, 1997Shinichi corrects Heiji’s deduction, proving Isao’s father Tsujimura Toshimitsu innocent by analyzing pocket geometry and needle placement. He reveals the true killer is Kimie, who used opera music and books to mask the murder of Isao, who had framed her first husband Yamashiro Kenji. Isao’s rage over Takayoshi dating Yukiko, Kimie’s daughter, triggered the crime. Kimie confesses as evidence is found in her key-holder. Shinichi reverts to Conan in the bathroom, where Ran questions him before he collapses. Three days later, Ran hides Conan’s baijiu to prevent him from turning back into Shinichi. Conan then joins his friends for a final game in the library before his transformation ends.

Mar 3, 1997After noticing police searching for a missing librarian, Conan and the Detective Boys sneak into the library at night. They observe director Tsugawa Shuji packing imported books and boasting about hiding the victim's body. The children search for remaining items and discover fake books with no spines containing narcotics packets. They deduce the body is in the elevator and manually open the door to reveal the corpse of Tamada Kazuo. Tsugawa Shuji is also present inside. After narrowly escaping him, the group sets a trap that successfully knocks him unconscious.

Harley Hartwell also attends, hoping to meet Jimmy. Host Harry Kanucka outlines the rules. After two days of silence, Harry is found driving off a cliff, presumed murdered. Sheila claims to know the killer. A garage fire follows, killing Sheila, whose charred body is found in a car. Evidence confirms murder. Despite rumors that Harry faked his death, Conan and Harley insist he is dead. During an investigation, a blackout occurs, and Ernie is stabbed with an ice pick. The killer escapes through a window, but Conan and Harley suspect the murderer remains inside.

May 12, 1997After Conan reveals his deductions, Harley believes Conan is actually Jimmy Kudo. Harley reveals that Harry had already undergone rigor mortis while in the car. Conan tranquilizes Harley, not wanting to risk using Richard, and accuses Alex Carr. With knowledge on rigor mortis, Alex placed Harry in the car after murdering him, then placed his foot on the brake. Once rigor mortis had set in, he turned on the car's heater allowing rigor mortis to leave quicker than usual, shifted the car into drive, and opened the garage. This eases pressure on the brake and causing the car to accelerate into the ocean. For Sheila's murder, Alex lured her with first-edition Sherlock Holmes book by claiming that it was hidden in the car, which had a punctured gas tank and dead batteries. Sheila, not able to see in the dark with no car lights, used her lighter, which igniting the gasoline causing a fire. Since the garage fire was designed for Ernie Bower, Alex desperately created a blackout and stabbed him. As evidence of Keno's crimes, Conan reveals that Alex did not answer a single question on the questionnaire, since he knew that the host was already dead. Kento did all this because he despised "Irene Adler's Sneer", a book created by the host Kanucka and Ernie that had Sherlock's equal Irene Adler laughing at him. Harley wakes up and decides to blackmail Conan into revealing who he really is by telling him that he will tell Rachel if he doesn't tell him the truth. Afterwards, Conan reveals his identity to Harley, as well as how the Black Organization gave him a poison that caused him to shrink.

May 19, 1997Conan and the Junior Detective League monitor the Toddler Shopping Day, where Christopher encounters strange events. Conan realizes the child witnessed a murder, but the boy continues shopping unaware of the danger. The culprit kidnaps Hiroshi, drugs him, and places him with a corpse in a building scheduled for demolition. After locking Conan and the gang inside, the killer escapes as the structure begins to collapse. Conan locates a water pipe leading outside and safely guides everyone out to confront the murderer. The killer admits to murdering a loan shark who demanded excessive payments despite the debt being paid. The boy wakes up and asks the former shopkeeper for items on his list, moving the killer to tears that his store was remembered. The situation is darkly humorous because Hiroshi never actually saw the body.

Richard learns Mikami intends to keep the gold and is forced to remain on the island. Later, Richard is attacked again, bashed on the head, and arrested for allegedly killing Hank Hamada with a katana. Conan must prove Richard’s innocence to prevent a life sentence.

The killer now writes these scripts while imprisoned, continuing the franchise he originally wanted to end.

Other guests include Romero Rojas, Heidi Camino, Mark McKean, Winston Cadbury, Clarissa Bunn, karate champion Cliff Reed, and his girlfriend Audra Kelly. Tensions rise when Richard is present. The Night Baron appears on the balcony, pushing Conan into the pool. Conan deceives Rachel to prevent departure, questioning the virus giveaway. Later, the Night Baron falls from the sky and is impaled on a statue below.

The costume is discovered in the pool, destroying genetic evidence. Additional facts include the costume coming from Romero's body and a third-degree karate black belt guard being knocked out.

Cliff found her unused wig and realized she killed him. He stole the costume to create an alibi and prevent her arrest. Audra confesses that Romero hacked her brother's systems years ago, causing the company's loss and her brother's suicide. She staged the murder using a fake virus. Although Audra acts to make Cliff forget her, he remains loyal, accepts arrest for aiding her, and allows himself to be taken into custody.

He reveals Quinly killed Cary, noting the poisoned bottle belonged to a past competition while her paid drink remained in the vending machine. Quinly admits to the act, citing fear after Cary pushed her down stairs and planned to kill her, as shown by weapons in his bag. Despite his malicious intent, her actions constitute premeditated murder, and the court will view the bag as circumstantial evidence against her.
72EP 72Serena invites Conan and Rachel to her villa where a murder occurs involving her brothers and their father.
Aug 18, 1997Serena invites Rachel and Conan to her family's villa during the summer, where they meet her sister Angie's fiancée, Tod Appenheimer, and his baseball obsessed father, Rodrick, who expresses disdain over his sons' ways of life. Later that night while returning to his villa after watching a baseball game, Rodrick is brutally beaten to death and his watch stolen, allegedly by Todd. Conan and the others witness this. The next day, Tad and Ted, Tod's brothers, arrive, revealing them to be triples. Only Tod's has an alibi since he was talking to someone on the phone using a groundline, leaving his brothers prime suspects. Using Serena, Conan reveals that Ted, the novelist brother, killed Rodrick. He wiretapped his father's watch to track his movements, explaining why it went missing and made the mistake of setting the answering machine's clock ahead to the time of the blackout; no messages could have been recorded then. Defeated, he explains that he needed inspiration to continue his work, and since every writer has had a great tragedy in their lives, he needed to experience one himself.
