He created a false alibi by using an answering machine to simulate a conversation with Nurse Nolan. Evidence revealed Yanning’s fingerprints were absent from his coffee cup, whereas Nolan’s were present, contradicting his claim of being in his office. Yanning confessed that Hindman was blackmailing him regarding a promotion to head surgeon and was subsequently arrested.

Madison explains that Rita stole the ikebana technique from her sister, secured funding for it, and claimed it as her own, leading to her sister's suicide. With the truth exposed, Rita is left devastated. Richard, now awake, spanks Conan for ruining the show.
