The Emperor learns that secret hunters failed to capture the prince and kill Balsa. Torogai, an elderly magic weaver, defeats Hyoku and Rai, warriors sent by the Emperor, then sends a letter to star diviners warning of a predicted drought and offering help. Hibitonan orders Shuga to decipher ancient stone scroll inscriptions in the sacred chambers, seeking connections to the water spirit. Tanda retrieves and treats Balsa. Touya and Saya arrive to inform Tanda about Chagum, allowing Balsa to explain her situation before resting and having her bandages replaced. The group enjoys a meal together when Torogai arrives unannounced.
