Feb 15, 1989Piccolo discloses to the crowd that he is the reincarnation of King Piccolo. This revelation causes all spectators to flee the arena, leaving only Goku and his friends behind. The absence of bystanders benefits Goku, as he no longer needs to protect innocents during the fight. Piccolo then focuses his energy to transform into a giant version of himself. Despite being considerably larger, Goku handles the battle without difficulty, though he admits that any further increase in size would cause him trouble. Piccolo proceeds to make himself even larger, becoming a gargantuan opponent for Goku to face.

Amidst the settling dust, Goku remains standing. Capitalizing on Piccolo's exhaustion from the immense power output, Goku strikes back with a Kamehameha, driving his opponent into the ground. As the count nears nine, Piccolo raises his head and fires an energy beam that pierces Goku. Despite the severe injury, Goku refuses to yield, continuing the intense confrontation.

He departs the scene, vowing to defeat Goku in the future.

A sudden fire blast engulfs the castle, forcing everyone to evacuate except the Ox King, who remains inside to secure the dress. He becomes trapped within the burning structure. Consequently, Goku and Chichi depart to visit Baba in order to request assistance for the rescue situation.

Mar 22, 1989The inhabitants of Frying Pan cannot put out the castle fire, prompting Goku and Chi Chi to ask the Turtle hermit for help crafting a Bansho fan. They travel south to a volcano to gather materials, where Goku pacifies a resident beast. Meanwhile, Mai and Shu pursue the Fire Eater. Chi Chi discovers a large egg tended by a scientist who reveals the fate of the Fire Eaters. Emperor Pilaf, Mai, and Shu arrive, but flee after Goku destroys their drill vehicle. A surviving Fire Eater emerges from the crater to hatch the egg. Goku and Chi Chi escape with the scientist but return empty-handed, though Chi Chi retains an egg fragment. The scientist then directs them to the location of the Bansho fan.

Apr 5, 1989Goku and Chi Chi arrive at a mountain where a blizzard begins, meeting an old woman named Octagon who claims the area is disrupted by females. While Pilaf, Shu, and Mai search for the Bansho fan, Goku gathers snow and Octagon provides honey. Chi Chi cleans Octagon's house, breaking dishes, and finds the fan in the yard. Shu steals the fan, blowing away his companions and fleeing. The cold weather hinders Pilaf's attacks on Goku. Despite their return, the Ox King remains desperate as Goku waves the fan without extinguishing the flames.

Apr 12, 1989Baba informs Goku that the fan is broken, requiring a journey to the Magical Furnace in the Dark World to meet Tajoro. Goku and Chi Chi travel there, leaping over a large gap and evading bats. As they proceed deeper, the environment becomes more perilous, yet they realize the dangers are imaginary and continue their path. Meanwhile, the Ox King becomes trapped at the castle peak. At the furnace, Goku encounters Gohan, who reveals that Tajoro is actually named Amin. Goku intends to extinguish the furnace, but both Gohan and Amin oppose his plan.

Apr 19, 1989Gohan and Amin prevent Goku from turning off the furnace, arguing that spirits need access to the afterlife. Amin attacks Goku instead of assisting him. After observing Goku possess the Bansho fan, Amin devises a plan requiring Chi Chi, who holds the necessary items. With the fan and Amin lifting the pot, Goku enters the furnace and seals the hole, escaping barely alive. The castle flames subside, and the Ox King survives with the wedding dress intact. Goku and Chi Chi then proceed with their marriage ceremony, officially becoming husband and wife.
