Jan 6, 1988Goku and Krillin begin their semifinal bout, appearing evenly matched after several minutes. Krillin uses the sun's reflection off his bald head to blind Goku, kicking him down, but Goku lands on his feet and counterattacks. Krillin then manipulates his air intake to float, disrupting Goku's timing. Elsewhere, Tien confronts Master Roshi regarding his withdrawal from the tournament. Roshi explains that he is not a killer despite his demeanor and asserts that Tien possesses a conscience that will define him as a hero. Tien attempts to disregard this advice, vowing to kill Goku to disprove Roshi's perspective.

Jan 13, 1988Goku and Krillin continue their fight. Goku runs toward Krillin, creating a Kamehameha wave as he goes. He jumps in the air and uses the wave to blast himself into Krillin. The announcer begins the count, but Krillin gets up, so they continue fighting. Goku gets several powerful hits in on Krillin, who realizes he only has one chance to win. He fires a Kamehameha wave at Goku, who easily blocks it. Suddenly, Krillin appears behind Goku and grabs his tail. Goku passes out and the announcer begins counting. Before he reaches 10, Goku gets up and slams Krillin to the ground, saying that during the last three years, he worked with his tail until the weakness was gone. Krillin fools Goku and gets in a cheap shot, causing the two of them to launch into another furious bout. After Krillin hits him again, Goku disappears. He is moving so fast that no one can see him. He suddenly appears next to Krillin and kicks him out of the ring.

Goku trips Tien and pulls his legs, causing pain, while Tien chokes Goku with his extra arms before letting go. Tien eventually flips Goku into the wall. Deciding to end the match, Tien instructs Goku to dodge and floats above the ring to fire the Tri-Beam Cannon. The attack destroys the entire ring, leaving a large hole in the ground, and Goku is nowhere to be found when the dust clears.

May 25, 1988King Piccolo launches an assault on Chow Castle while the kingdom celebrates King Furry's anniversary. Goku plans to ascend Korin's tower to see Korin, with Yajirobe starting the climb with Bora's assistance. Yamcha and others arrive to find Tien waiting. As citizens present bouquets to the king, Piccolo breaches the castle. The situation turns violent, resulting in the death of the commander and the capture of King Furry during his evacuation. Meanwhile, Yajirobe successfully reaches the upper section of the tower.
EP 114King Piccolo's Conquest and the Search for Ultra Divine Water
Jun 1, 1988King Piccolo kills King Furry's first officer and demands Furry send word to the world of his conquest. Furry refuses and King Piccolo destroys a large part of the city making him give in. Bulma places Chiaotzu and Roshi's corpses in freezing capsules. Meanwhile Yajirobe meets Korin and eats too many Sensu beans. Goku's friends are trying to enjoy themselves while Tien is trying hard to learn the evil containment wave. Sadly Korin has nothing left to teach Goku, but tips Goku on Ultra Divine Water.

Jun 8, 1988Piano provokes the enslaved subjects of King Piccolo. Korin informs Goku that the Ultra Divine Water is located within a dangerous icy labyrinth where many have died attempting to pass. Yajirobe initially refuses to join the quest but accidentally enters the same portal as Goku. Inside, Goku battles an indestructible ice monster while Darkness awakens. Both Goku and Yajirobe manage to escape by sliding down a long, twisting path. Meanwhile, Snow considers shooting King Piccolo with a rifle but recognizes the extreme danger of such an action. Darkness prepares a severe threat for Goku and Yajirobe as they continue their journey.

Tien masters the evil containment wave to confront King Piccolo. Goku and Yajirobe return to Korin's Tower, where Korin provides Goku with a new Nimbus cloud. Goku then sets out to face King Piccolo again.

Jul 6, 1988King Piccolo selects Sector 28 for destruction, a region identified as the home of Bulma.
