Jan 11, 1989Tien demonstrates a significant boost in speed, pointing out that Goku has not improved his velocity since the last tournament. Requesting a brief pause, Goku takes off his shirt, wristbands, and boots, which together weigh 100 kg. Freed from this heavy training load, Goku becomes faster than ever before. Unable to keep up with his opponent's enhanced speed, Tien has no choice but to employ a new technique known as the 12 eyes.

Jan 18, 1989Tien utilizes a technique that divides his body into four distinct entities, resulting in a total of twelve eyes. Goku is initially knocked down by their first attack but uses the moment to identify two critical weaknesses: the twelve eyes are overly sensitive, and each split body possesses only one-fourth of Tien's original strength. Capitalizing on these vulnerabilities, Goku employs Tien's own Taiyoken technique to blind the multiple eyes. He then proceeds to knock all four separate Tiens out of the ring, securing his victory through this strategic exploitation of the opponent's divided form.
