With the truth exposed, Steger protests briefly before being arrested by military policemen alongside Haase, closing the case.

The victim is identified as Michael von Keyserling, a disgraced former Vice Admiral demoted and discharged after his defeat in the Battle of Arlesheim on 792 UC. When Reinhard von Müsel raises concerns about the potential enemy presence and suggests a reconnaissance mission, Commodore Hermann von Lüneburg, a ground combat specialist, volunteers to lead the operation. Simultaneously, the Alliance base commander deploys the Rosen Ritter for a separate reconnaissance mission to pinpoint the exact location of the Grimmelshausen Fleet. Both sides are thus engaged in critical intelligence gathering operations centered around the strategic satellite, unaware of the other's specific movements and intentions during this tense period of the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, Walter von Schönkopf, interim regimental commander of the Rosen Ritter, faces significant disadvantages in organizing the Alliance defense, including inferior weaponry, inadequate supplies, a substantial numerical disadvantage, and poor coordination with other ground troops. His strategy is to hold the line until fleet reinforcements arrive. On 6 April 794 UC, both sides finally clash with each other.

Both Alliance and Imperial warships struggle to engage one another within the confined space surrounding Van-Fleet 4-2, resulting in intense and disorganized combat operations.

Following these events, Reinhard is promoted to Rear Admiral. His superiors, Richard von Grimmelshausen and Hermann von Lüneburg, also receive one-rank promotions. However, Siegfried Kircheis is not promoted, a decision that deeply infuriates Reinhard. This sequence of events marks a significant tactical shift in the conflict, highlighting the disparity in recognition between the two officers despite their shared successes in the campaign.

Although the visit appears to be a formal courtesy for Hermann's promotion to Rear Admiral, he actually seeks Ovlesser's help in lobbying high nobles against Reinhard von Müsel. Ovlesser, who dislikes both men, rejects Hermann's request. Meanwhile, Siegfried Kircheis informs Reinhard about his findings regarding Lüneburg's background. Reinhard later meets Annerose von Grünewald and explains why Kircheis was not promoted. During the battle, Walter von Schönkopf defeats Hermann von Lüneburg in single combat after the latter attempts to board the Cheiron 3. Meanwhile, Reinhard and Siegfried Kircheis meet Ulrich Kesler in Iserlohn Fortress. Kesler reveals the truth behind Elisabeth von Lüneburg's former fiancé's death and offers Reinhard a book by Richard von Grimmelshausen detailing noble misdeeds. Reinhard declines the blackmail material, choosing to defeat the high nobility through fair means.
