Ash and his friends travel to Violet City to challenge the local gym. They encounter Casey, a new trainer and baseball enthusiast who immediately challenges Ash to a battle. Ash defeats all three of her Pokémon using only Charizard. Upset by the loss, Casey forms an alliance with Team Rocket to seek revenge against Ash. However, she eventually discovers that Team Rocket was merely manipulating her for their own purposes. This realization leads her to abandon her plan for retribution after understanding the true nature of her new partners' intentions.
