Yugo Matsuda Irving aspires to become a sushi chef and hopes to outshine his late mother, who trained in Japan. Though he has experience making sushi in Hawaii, he longs to study in Japan, where his mother learned her craft. He gets an opportunity when he is invited by his mother’s former business partner, who owns a top sushi restaurant in the country. The story explores Yugo’s journey as he enters the competitive world of Japanese sushi cuisine, relying on his self-taught skills to navigate the challenges ahead.
