Bernard conceals his memory-wiping failure and recruits Misaki by claiming classified data might reveal her father's fate. They access records regarding an incident that supposedly killed both their fathers and steal a ship to visit the site. Prim and LeBlanc know their plans but LeBlanc allows them to proceed. Core mechas attack, and Misaki fights them in an R.A. before falling off the edge. Bernard downloads the data and departs without her. Inside the Core, Misaki finds the enemy mechas contain dead pilots. She senses her father calling to her but cannot determine the source of the signal.
