While counting down the days until Arima returns from his kendo tournament, Yukino realizes her longing for him intensifies. Upon his homecoming after winning the national championship, she finds her deepened emotions difficult to manage, becoming nervous simply by being in his presence. During their first date together, she flinches away from him and fails to explain her behavior, inadvertently triggering his fear of abandonment. Arima chases after her and promises he will never let her go, which finally gives her the confidence to open up and explain what has been happening between them.
