Jirokichi explains the shrine is steel-reinforced, meaning Kid must be disguised inside. Suspects include Jirokichi, Ginzo Nakamori, or three reporters. Haibara analyzes a pillar message and realizes the pedestals represent the Four Symbols: Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, Black Tortoise, and Azure Dragon. She concludes that activating them in the correct sequence opens the center pillar.
