Sep 2, 2004Ash and his companions attempt to catch a ferry to Lilycove but accidentally board a vessel bound for Bomba Island. There, they encounter Jimmy, a student at the Pokémon Battle Judge Training Institute, along with his Wartortle, Charmeleon, and Ivysaur. Professor Serena organizes a Double Battle for her class, with Ash commanding Swellow and Corphish, and Brock using Mudkip and Lombre. Jimmy serves as the judge but incorrectly declares Corphish defeated after a simultaneous Water Gun attack. Later, Jimmy reveals he obtained his Cascade Badge by chance. Team Rocket steals Jimmy's Pokémon, prompting Wartortle to evolve into Blastoise and use Hydro Pump to rescue them. After Team Rocket is defeated, Professor Serena advises Jimmy to leave the institute to become a Trainer. Jimmy departs for Lilycove to begin his journey, while Ash and friends proceed to Mossdeep City.

Sep 16, 2004While relaxing at the Grand Wazoo Resort on Wazoo Island, the children meet Adam, a treasure hunter who believes he has located the wreck of the King Neptune. Adam and the kids explore the shipwreck in a submarine, pursued secretly by Team Rocket in their Magikarp sub. Team Rocket attacks with a missile and blocks the cave exit. Inside, the group discovers the ship is inhabited by many Relicanth. When Team Rocket returns to steal a trunk and destroys the vessel, the Relicanth retaliate with Hydro Pump. Pikachu defeats Team Rocket with Thunder. Adam opens the trunk to find only Green Shards, but gains the friendship of the Relicanth as his true reward.
