Team Plasma researcher Colress employs a device to extract strength from Pokémon, resulting in controlled wild creatures attacking the inhabitants of Floccesy Town. Ash, Iris, and Cilan become entangled in the chaos after their partners, Pikachu and Axew, are also subjected to Colress's control. Following their rescue by the agent Looker, the trio agrees to assist him in investigating Team Plasma and uncovering the details of Colress's sinister plan. This collaboration marks a shift in their involvement as they work to stop the escalating threat posed by the organization's experiments and the resulting danger to the local community and their own Pokémon.
