Aug 13, 1986Goku faces Nam in the semifinal match, attempting to use a tornado attack to force him out of the ring, but becomes dizzy before completing the move. Nam retaliates with an aerial strike intended to cause unconsciousness, yet Goku recovers, mimics Nam’s flight, and kicks him out of the ring. After Nam prepares to leave, Jackie Chun intervenes and provides a dyno capsule for storage. When Nam questions how Jackie knew about his water issue, Jackie claims to have read his mind. Nam deduces that Jackie Chun is actually Master Roshi, who explains he is competing undercover to ensure Goku and Krillin do not become complacent after winning the tournament. To maintain the ruse, Nam disguises himself as Master Roshi in the crowd, successfully convincing Yamcha that Jackie Chun is not the old master.

Yamcha explains that Jackie is using the drunken boxing technique, prompting Goku to counter with his crazy monkey attack. Goku runs around like a monkey, preventing Jackie Chun from following him. Once this sequence concludes, Jackie Chun declares that his next move will win the match.

Aug 27, 1986As dusk settles, the final bout between Goku and Jackie Chun intensifies. Jackie hypnotizes Goku, rendering him unconscious until Bulma shouts that dinner is ready, prompting Goku to wake up. He attempts janken-based attacks, but Jackie blocks them until Goku feints with a rock throw. Jackie then unleashes his rare Lightning Flash Surprise, delivering 20,000 volts to Goku. Just as defeat seems imminent, Goku sees the full moon and reverts to his Great Ape form. Determined to stop the rampage, Jackie fires his most powerful Kamehameha wave. When the smoke clears, Goku has vanished, leading Bulma, Yamcha, and the others to believe Jackie killed him.

Both fighters are exhausted and agree on a straightforward conclusion. After a prolonged exchange, they jump and kick each other in the face, knocking each other down. The count exceeds ten, and the judge declares that the first to stand and declare victory wins. Goku struggles to his feet but collapses before finishing his declaration. Jackie Chun stands up and proudly announces his win. Later, Roshi removes his disguise and dines with friends, where Goku consumes so much food that Roshi must spend all his prize money.

Sep 10, 1986Master Roshi advises Goku and Krillin to pause their training, yet Krillin chooses to reside with him. Goku departs to locate the four-star Dragon Ball. Nam brings water to his village, but the river remains dry, prompting him to investigate upstream. After a dinosaur attack, Goku saves Nam from a nearby lake. They discover a dam built by monsters who refuse to dismantle it. Their leader, Giran, recognizes Goku from the tournament and admits the structure is too strong for them. Goku uses a Kamehameha wave to destroy the dam. Although the river refills, a sandstorm dries it again. Goku realizes the lake he swam in is the Roaming Lake, which arrived to assist the village.

Goku finds the shop and detects a signal, revealing Emperor Pilaf and Mai holding a four-star ball they just purchased. They escape in their ship, but Goku pursues them on the Nimbus Cloud. Meanwhile, a mysterious military force arrives at the store seeking a Dragon Ball. The salesman provides a four-star ball, which they identify as a fake. Pilaf’s ball is also a fake, though Goku is unaware. The signal originated from a six-star ball in a nest above the shop, which a bird subsequently flies away with in its talons.

During the feast, the Red Ribbon Army attacks the village after tracking the six-star ball’s signal, capturing the Ox King. Pilaf retrieves the Dragon Ball from the bird and escapes in his ship. While Goku searches on foot, he is ambushed by automatic guns emerging from the sand. Colonel Silver observes this and deduces that Pilaf is hiding in an underground base. Pilaf, Mai, and Shu attempt to flee on the flying fortress. Goku clings to the ship’s exterior as the Red Ribbon Army intercepts them. The army destroys the fortress, forcing Pilaf, Mai, and Shu to parachute down and surrender the six-star ball.

Colonel Silver shoots the monkey, sending it over a cliff edge. Goku catches the creature, but the monkey drops the ball into a nearby river.

Oct 15, 1986While the Red Ribbon Army searches the river for the five-star ball, Goku follows the dragon radar downstream and locates it. Colonel Silver destroys the flying Nimbus before Goku can escape, prompting an angry Goku to easily defeat him. Goku discovers dyno caps in a nearby building, revealing one to be a robot and the other a plane. The robot pilots the plane as Goku tracks the nearest signal on the dragon radar. However, the robot’s circuits freeze in the extreme cold, causing the plane to crash. Goku, frozen solid, is subsequently dragged away by a mysterious young girl.

Oct 22, 1986Snow brings the recovering Goku to her residence, where she and her mother reveal that the Red Ribbon Army has captured their village chief. The captors are compelling the local men to assist in searching for the Dragon Ball while holding the chief hostage within a fortress named Muscle Tower. As Goku uses the bathroom, two soldiers breach the house, but he defeats them. Snow provides Goku with warm clothing for the cold weather. He proceeds to Muscle Tower, quickly neutralizing the guards stationed outside. Using his power pole, Goku vaults onto the first level of the structure to continue his mission.
EP 36Goku battles the giant android Major Metallitron on the third floor of Muscle Tower.
Oct 29, 1986Goku advances to the third floor of Muscle Tower and encounters the large android Major Metallitron. The two engage in combat, with Goku initially knocking the giant down. However, Major Metallitron recovers and grabs Goku, launching a missile that Goku successfully dodges. Goku retaliates with a Kamehameha wave, destroying the android's head, but the machine continues to operate. He then punches a hole through the robot's chest, yet the fight persists. The battle concludes only when Major Metallitron's batteries finally run out of power, ending the threat.
EP 37Ninja Murasaki arrives at the fourth floor of Muscle Tower to eliminate Goku.
Nov 5, 1986Goku reaches the fourth floor of Muscle Tower, finding himself in a forest where Ninja Murasaki hides to kill him. After a series of hide and seek, racing, and shuriken throwing games, Murasaki chooses to fight directly. Goku uses his power pole to break Murasaki's sword. However, Murasaki then throws a boomerang that strikes Goku, knocking him unconscious.

Nov 12, 1986After recovering from his injury, Goku chases Murasaki across a lake filled with piranhas. Murasaki employs his ultimate technique, appearing to split into five separate entities that nearly overwhelm Goku. The group reveals they are actually quintuplet brothers rather than a single person divided. Goku defeats them individually and pursues the final brother to a cage. There, the ninja releases a monster named Android 8.
EP 39Goku and Android Eighter Navigate a Labyrinth to Confront General White
Nov 19, 1986Ninja Murasaki attempts to force Android 8 to battle Goku, but the android refuses. When Murasaki threatens to detonate an internal bomb using a remote control, Goku intervenes, destroying the device and defeating the ninja. Goku then becomes trapped in a labyrinth with no apparent exit. Android 8 arrives to assist him in navigating the maze, earning the nickname "Eighter" from Goku. Together, they easily repel approaching soldiers and bypass a trick wall at the end of the path. They discover General White waiting in the command room on the 6th floor. Refusing to surrender, General White drops both Goku and Eighter through a trapdoor.
EP 40Goku and Eighter battle the indestructible monster Buyon on the fifth floor.
Nov 26, 1986Goku and Eighter arrive on the fifth floor, where General White unleashes the monster Buyon to eliminate them. While Snow discovers sweet furry rodents, Eighter hides in fear as Goku engages Buyon. The monster proves immune to physical damage and consumes Goku, who manages to escape. A Kamehameha Wave fails to harm Buyon, but Goku recalls a previous interaction with Snow. He punches a hole in the wall, allowing cold air to enter and freeze Buyon solid. Goku then shatters the frozen creature, rescuing Eighter from being eaten. Together, they ascend back to the command room, having defeated the threat.
EP 41Goku battles General White while Eighter hesitates during the siege of Muscle Tower.
Dec 3, 1986Goku engages General White, who lacks physical fitness, while Eighter refuses to intervene due to his pacifist nature. White captures Goku by the tail and, after a severe beating, feigns surrender to release the village chief. White then threatens to execute the chief unless Eighter beats Goku. The chief struggles with the choice between life and death. Under this blackmail, an enraged Goku demands White shoot him directly. White complies, but Eighter loses his temper and punches White out of the tower. The trio exits the structure, which Eighter subsequently destroys. They return to Snow's house to receive a warm welcome from the villagers.
EP 42The Secret of Dr. Flappe
Dec 10, 1986Snow's parents question the dragon ball's location, unaware Eighter hid it to protect the village from General White. With a bomb still inside him, Eighter must leave, leading the group to seek Dr. Flappe. Goku's dragon radar is broken during this journey. Murasaki, having survived previous events, stalks the trio. Upon arrival, Murasaki ambushes Dr. Flappe, revealing the doctor created Eighter, not the RR Army. Under duress, Dr. Flappe steals Goku's dragon balls. Goku pursues and defeats the ninja. Dr. Flappe successfully removes the bomb from Eighter but cannot repair the radar. Goku then throws the bomb, resulting in Murasaki's death.
EP 43Goku travels to West City and wins money in a street fight to find Bulma
Dec 17, 1986After staying at Snow’s house, a villager assists Goku in summoning his Nimbus cloud for the journey to West City. Upon arrival, Goku struggles to locate Bulma as no one he encounters provides any information. Lacking funds, he participates in and wins a significant amount of money through a street fighting competition. During his travels, he is kidnapped by thieves, but they pose no real threat to him. Eventually, Goku seeks help from a police officer who directs him to Capsule Corp, the company where dyno caps were originally invented, which is Bulma’s residence.
EP 44Master Thief Hasky targets Goku while Bulma repairs equipment and the group heads to Dreamland
Dec 24, 1986Bulma returns from skipping school and joins Goku and a policeman at her father’s garden. While Bulma repairs the radar, her father fixes the policeman’s motorcycle. Bulma discovers Goku has acquired two Dragon Balls and demonstrates her Microband invention to convince him to let her join. Simultaneously, the Red Ribbon Army plots against Goku, with General Black hiring master thief Hasky to steal the balls. Hasky allies with other thieving rogues to execute her plan. Goku and Bulma reunite with Yamcha, Puar, and Oolong, and the group decides to travel to the new Dreamland amusement park. Hasky prepares to make her move against them.
