Ep. 4: Kambei and Gorobei defeat Ayamaro's assassins before facing Kyuzo

Kambei recruits Gorobei, and the pair easily defeat the assassins sent by magistrate Ayamaro. Enraged by this loss, Ayamaro dispatches his two bodyguards, who are fellow samurai, to pursue them. Kambei then engages in combat with the mysterious warrior Kyuzo. The duel continues until Kambei acknowledges that he cannot currently defeat Kyuzo. He proposes that the fight must be postponed until after he fulfills a prior promise. This decision halts the immediate battle, leaving the outcome between the two skilled swordsmen unresolved for the time being.
