As the 2020 Tokyo Olympics approach, a global surge in sushi popularity emerges, prompting concerns over inauthentic versions. In response, the Japanese government collaborates with international authorities to form the World Food-culture Conservation Organization, aimed at preserving genuine local culinary traditions. The organization's 9th Division, known as the Sushi Police, is tasked with monitoring Japanese cuisine outside Japan. This division is infamous for its aggressive tactics, targeting restaurants in various countries that serve what it deems inauthentic Japanese food. Their strict enforcement methods and willingness to use extreme measures to eradicate subpar sushi have led to widespread resentment among restaurant owners globally.
