Ginji asks Makubex to return the IL to the GetBackers, but when negotiation fails, he challenges him to a duel. Makubex deflects Ginji’s attacks and electrocutes the other six members before transforming the room into an illusion resembling his own body. Ginji realizes Makubex is suffering and fights to help him, while the group notes their equal strength. Ban questions if the Limitless Fortress is a virtual reality due to rapid healing and power boosts. A flashback shows Ban inviting Ginji to join him because Ginji was uncertain about staying with the VOLTS as the Lightning Lord. Ultimately, Ginji’s final strike reveals the entire scenario was an illusion used by Makubex to install the IL into the mainframe.
