Ep. 25: Makubex confronts his utopia and reunites with friends after Ginji saves him from suicide.

Makubex activates the intruder interception program, preventing the GetBackers from stopping him. He reveals he hacked the Babylon City database to find the Archive, a prophecy about the Limitless Fortress. He intended to use the IL to break free from Babylon City and create a new fortress. In an illusory world, Makubex sees the ruins of the fortress and his own reflection detonating the IL, turning to ashes. Ban reveals he used Jagan on Makubex and destroys the detonator. Makubex locks the team in the computer room, but Ginji breaks the door with lightning. Emishi notes Makubex hardened for The VOLTS. Makubex attempts suicide to verify his reality, but Ginji saves him, reminding him that many cherish him. Makubex cries, returns to his warmhearted self, and vows to protect his loved ones. He announces the new formation of The VOLTS and returns the IL, stored on a floppy disk, to the GetBackers. They give it to masked men, who are killed by Akabane. The team returns to the Honky Tonk cafe.
