Mai Mai Shinko to Sennen no Mahou

In 1955, a young girl named Shinko lives in Kokuga, Hofu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, a place with historical ties to the ancient capital of Suo no Kuni from one thousand years prior. Born into a respected local family, Shinko is known for a distinctive curl on her forehead, which she calls her "Mai Mai," and for her fondness of playing in the fields. She often imagines life during the Heian Period. When a new student named Kiiko arrives from Tokyo, she initially struggles to adjust to the small-town setting. As their friendship grows, both girls become involved in a mysterious event linked to the distant past.
