Jan 12, 1998Hajime, Myuki, and Detective Kenmochi travel by sleeper train to the Sequestrum Plain Motel in Hokkaido after receiving a threat from the "Puppet Master from Hell." The group is entertained by the Fantasy Magic Team until a warning calls for a bomb explosion in 20 minutes. After evacuating, they discover Fumio Yamagami, the team leader and Yumi's husband, is missing. Akechi arrives as a fan, and while a bomb detonates, it only releases rose petals. A subsequent message leads them to Yamagami's cabin, where small explosions occur before they find his body has vanished. Upon checking into the motel, Yamagami is found dead, suspended like a marionette in the room of a masked guest named Mario Totsune.

After witnessing the Living Puppet act, he realized the team possessed copies of Chikamiya's notes and, upon becoming manager, overheard them discuss their involvement in her death. Sakonji confirms the story and gives Takato his copy of the notebook. Takato is taken away by the police, knowing a trap is set. When Sakonji performs a new death-defying act, he is killed because Chikamiya wrote an intentional flaw into her notebook. With Sakonji's death, Takato escapes from prison.

Shiomi admits she visited Nakatsukawa to confess her love, but he rejected her for someone else. In her distress, she accidentally struck him with the plaster statue. Nakatsukawa eventually recovers and forgives Shiomi for her impulsive actions.
