Ep. 40: Seishin delivers letters to Hou and Kyou, changing Gekkei's mind and sparing Shoukei
Aired on July 5, 2003

Queen Kei dispatches Seishin to the kingdom of Hou with correspondence for the interim ruler, Gekkei. Although Gekkei is expected to assume leadership, he initially lacks the desire to do so. Upon hearing Seishin and reading a letter from Shoukei, the princess he previously spared, Gekkei alters his stance and agrees to serve as the interim king of Hou. Seishin also carries a message to Queen Kyou, seeking forgiveness on behalf of Shoukei. Consequently, Shoukei is banished from the kingdom of Kyou. This exile serves as a reprieve, as she is no longer pursued for her past crimes.
